This is a field guide to the larger trees that occur in Ghanaian forests. It is based on photographs and drawings and is designed to minimise the need for reading complicated botanical text.
The guide includes 326 species, virtually all Ghana's forest canopy and emergent trees.
The guide is based primarily on bark slash photos, but also shows leaves, fruit, flowers, bark, wood crown, and bole
There are also brief notes on ecology and distribution, bark and bole details, and on leaves, flowers, fruits. Similar species are mentioned and distinguished.
