LocationMangroves immediately inland from Levera Beach towards Levera Pond about 2km N of the National Park Visitor Centre.
NotesSmall branchy tree to 8m ht. with large arching, branched stilt roots from 4m ht, surrounded by dense thickets of 20cm tall rubbery and flexible air roots. Twigs fatter immediately below leaves than further down. Leaves leathery, upper surface - glossy, midrib shallowly grooved, paler, lower surface - midrib yellow, parallel laterals visible, dotted. Forming dense thickets in standing brackish water and surrounding waterlogged silt. The only mangrove in flooded area. (RHS colour code: Leaf upper =139A, below=146A)
