Species information

Description
30m tree with horizontal layers of branches; leaves obovate, clustered, blades 5-9cm, rounded to notched at tip, tapering to petiole; twigs swollen and scarred where lvs clustered; flowers <5mm long in spikes <2cm long. peduncles 5-15mm. Fts ellipsoid 15-30mm long, with v. ridged stone.

Interest
Light satiny wood good for furniture, once used to make bedsteads.

LArge cylindrical tree with low, fairly sharp edged buttresses. Outer bark flaky. Slash red brown over yellow, contoured (layered) with dirty yellowish exudate.
