Species information
DescriptionShrub up to 1.5m tall; Flowers parts in 5s. Leaves cordate at base.
InterestUsed to treat hernias (crushed with lard and applied). The patient urinates into an egg cup, which is then covered with hot ash; as the urine dries the hernia disappears. Leaves can be crushed and rubbed in for a healthy skin..(Politi, 1996).
