Species information
DescriptionTree to 15m; leaves 8-27cm long, papery, rolled over at margins, with hairs in axils of lateral nerves; 7-11 pairs laterals channelled on upper surface; oblanceolate to elliptic; prominent below;twigs with many lenticels; Ocrea 10-15mm long soon falling off; Ovary superior, but perianth developing around fruit; Infls 10-17cm long; pedicels to 2.5mm; perianth lobes (like petals) turning red and enclosing 3-4mm diam. fruit 5mm long, egg-shaped, 3-sided.
