Species information

Description
An evergreen tree characteristic of the evergreen forest zone, although found occasionally elsewhere, with a distinctive, modest crown of tufted leaves. Flush of new leaves bright red. Sometimes loses all its keaves in October in Sierra Leone [Savill & Fox, 1967].
