DescriptionTree to 10m; Leaf stalk swollen at both ends; blades 9-22cm
InterestCola is the West African vernacular name. Cola acuminata Extensively planted in W.Nigeria by Yoruba people. Cola nitida Taken by slaves to Jamaica and Brazil c. 1630. Kew sent to various botanic gardens as acuminata. Once a major traded item in W.Africa. Ghana export 6000 tons per year to Nigeria.
