Species information

Description
Tree to 35m; bole angular, with thin irregular buttresses; bark pale; young lvs silver-grey, or golden brown with loose hairs; many closely parallel lateral nerves; lvs mostly <10cm long; abruptly narrowing to blunt tip. Fls 3-5 together; corolla <4mm long. Fruit edible, egg-shaped, 2-4.5 cm long, single-seeded.

Tree 9 m tall, 25 cm dbh. BARK: slightly rough. SLASH: hard, fibrous, pink, sapwood yellow, latex. LEAVES: margin recurved; US midrib slightly channelled; LS rough. (RHS colour code: Leaf upper =147A, below=152A)
