Description20m tree, bark with large prominent 2-4mm lenticels (corky bumps); cut bark yellow, briefly sweet-smelling, bitter-seet taste; Lvs scented when crushed, very often infected by galls, 10-27cm long; young twigs with finer hairs lying flat; slightly waxy. glaucous colour below; veins impressed above; pancles branched from base, shorter than lvs; fruit stalks to 15mm; cupule below ft8mm wide; berry globose, c 1cm..
