Species information

Description
6m shrubs or treelets; stipule collar <1mm long, with 2.5mm pointed lobes; leaf blade up to 15cm, pointed at both ends with 1cm tip. Infls axes reddish; corolla tube 9mm, lobes 2mm, yellow to poink; fruit c 5mm, globose, with 2 ridged stones.

Location
10km E of St. Georges rd to Grenville, 500m W of Gran Etang Forest Reserve Boundary, just E of the Vendome Estate.

Notes
Small understorey or forest edge, branchy spreading treelet to 3m ht. Leaves w recurved margin when fresh, venation visible, but not prominent on both surfaces. Inflorescence stalks bright scarlet, corolla yellow. Common (RHS colour code: Leaf upper =139A, below=146A)
