Species information

Description
Slender palms up to 20m tall; stem up to 35cm diameter, smooth with faint leaf scars; often flared towards base and with aerial roots. Levaes 3-5m long, with pendulous leaflets, pale green to yellowish. Conspiucuous crownshaft longer than the infl bracts. Leaflet bases not touching across rachis?

Interest
Euterpe - named after one of the Muses, the one responsible for music. A fanciful reference to the sound of the wind in the leaves?
