Species information

Description
Epiphytic and climbing plant, sticking to trees etc with its aerila roots. Most leavers nr tip of stemm. Stalks 15-35cm; baldes 35-65vm , divided to more than half of their length, or even divided into many segments.

Interest
Carludovica palmata is the source of fibres for Panama hats, so -called because they were shipped trhrough Panama from Ecuador during the California Gold rush in 1849.
