DescriptionCorolla white with yellow eye.
InterestAvicennia was an 11th Century Arabian philosopher. In Africa, Aviceenia leaves and roots are used as a source of salt (better than other mangroves). The bark is rich in tannin and is also used as a red dye or to cure skin diseases. (Dalziel, 1948)
