Descriptionlvs to 10cm, apex acute-acuminate, midrib prominent; infls v. short racemose with c. 10 flowers, persistent bracts; 75-100 stamens; fts 1cm globose, purplish, soft edible.

NotesTree 9 m tall, 15 cm dbh. BARK: smooth, conspicuous guava-like curvy scales. SLASH: hard, fibrous, outer layer dark brown, inner layer yellow, sapwood orange, no smell. LEAVES: margin recurved; US midrib prominant; LS midrib only prominant at base. FRUIT: green, imm. (RHS colour code: Leaf upper =143A, below=144A)
