Species information

Description
Large tree to 30m, with buttresses. Leaves broadly ellipiptic or ovate, apex emarginate, margin entire; small hairs on veins, 8-40cm long, plus 1-10 cm petiole swollen at tip. Scalariform veins; Capsules spiny.

Notes
Tree 11 m tall with small plank buttresses. BARK: smooth with scattered red-brown lenticels. SLASH: brittle, fibrous, pink-red with nemerous fine strands of deeper red. LEAVES: bullate. (RHS colour code: Leaf upper =147A, below=148B)
