Species information

Description
A vicious nettle tree to 7m tall. Alternate leaves, with stalks up to 17cm long, blades to 25cm long with large teeth.

Interest
Urera - from L ure, sting or burn. Touching the plant can be like getting an electric shock followed by intense pain.

vicious looking nettle, with 2-3cm diam. woody stem. 30cm long ovate leaves. Stems with prickles. Red pedicels.
