LocationMt. Hartman Grenada Dove Sanctuary, 4.5km S of St. Gweorge's.
NotesSmall bushy tree to 4m ht. Young twigs green, prickles green with a black tip, black on older twigs with black lines or ridges between the prickles. Large leafy stipules or bracts on flowering shoots. Leaves with orange rachis gland; leaf rachis with recurved prickles. Flower heads arranged on long terminal 1-branched flowering shoots. Flowers: buds yellow-green, calyx and corolla creamy yellow-grean, stamen filaments white. Common in highly disturbed coastal thickets and along the margins of pasture with Bauhinia, Bourreria, Croton and Leucaena.
