Interest
Gum eaten by man and baboons, and stem poles used in northern Kenya (Wickens et al. 1995).

Species characteristics : The species either develops into a small/ medium sized tree to 12 m growing on heavy often rocky soils in woodland scrub (subsp. robusta), or into a larger riverine tree up to 25 m. found commonly along river banks, drainage lines or margins of pans.
