Description
Calyx with dense spreaing hairs >1mm long

Interest
Named after Louis Antoine de Bourgainville (1729-1811), sailor and explorer. Sailed around world in 1767-1769. A noted mathematician, lawyer, scientist, soldier and aurhgot. Beautifully coloured bracts all year round, in a variety of colours. Prickly, and often sued as a hedge pkant becuase of the prickles.
