DescriptionTree to 20m bark smooth, with slight horizontal hoops; straight-edge buttresses; Stipules up to 4cm long; leaves oblong, entire or serrated, 7-20cm long, acuminate.
InterestGk, brosimos, edible. Timber tree, producing fruits like chestnuts. A related species is the cow tree in Venezuela, whose latex is drunk.
