Species information

Description
30m tree with horizontal layers of branches; leaves obovate, clustered, blades 5-9cm, rounded to notched at tip, tapering to petiole; twigs swollen and scarred where lvs clustered; flowers <5mm long in spikes <2cm long. peduncles 5-15mm. Fts ellipsoid 15-30mm long, with v. ridged stone.

Interest
Light satiny wood good for furniture, once used to make bedsteads.

Notes
Tree 22 m tall. BARK: brown, smooth to flaky higher on bole. SLASH: fibrous, custard yellow, no scent. LEAVES: new flush. NB. photos do not adequately show the yellow in the slash.
