DescriptionTree to 4m; Lvs narrowly lanceolate, 5-6cm long, <2.5 cm wide, base narrowing acutely to lf stalk, apex very gradually acuminate, serrated; drying yellow green; terminal bud glabrous; infls 6cm long, >lvs; petals rounded joined only nr base. Fruits 13-20mm long. S.G Corolla joined at base, divided to 5 petals, stamens on corolla numerous. Fruit a drupe crowned by 5 calyx lobes.

NotesTree 20 m tall, 35 cm dbh. BARK: smooth, grey-white. SLASH: soft, fibrous, pink, sapwood pale orange-green, smell sweet like Annonaceae. LEAVES: US glossy, midrib flat; LS secondary nerves slightly raised only at base. FLOWERS: white, visited by humming birds. (RHS colour code: Leaf upper =137A, below=137C)
