Location
10km SSW of Vallecitos, close to the main Ciudad Altamirano-Zihuatanejo road about 62km NE of Zihuatanejo on the mid S facing slopes of the Sierra Madre del Sur.

Notes
Scrambling woody vine covering most of the crown of a medium-sized Enterolobium cyclocarpum tree reaching 20m ht. Bark mid brown, almost angular, striped paler brown, stems hollow or pithy. Leaves discolourous, dark glossy green above, paler mid green below, the pulvinules of the terminal pair of pinnae becoming woody and acting as tendrils to wrap around branches for support, and becoming spirally hooked around branches and very woody. Flowers arranged on massive branched inflorescences, the individual spikes upcurved or erect. Strong musty odour. Calyx and corolla mid green tinged purplish red, stamen filaments white, ovary green, style white with a greenish tinge at the stigmatic tip, anthers pale greenish yellow. Flowers persistent and fading to mid orange-brown. Frequent, scattered in dry deciduous forest with Enterolobium cyclocarpum, Acacia glomerosa, Albizia tomentosa, Leucaena macrophylla, Cecropia, Cordia and Lysiloma.
