Location
5km N of Chacalapa, track to San Miguel Chongos.

Notes
Medium-sized, low-branched tree to 10m ht. with upright angular branching. Outer bark pale grey-brown, with very sl. darker cinnamon-brown vertical fissures and horizontal hoops. Slash with a bright green layer then thick, granular, pale tangerine-orange. Leaves bipinnate, mostly with a single pair of pinnae. Pods green, turning mid orange-brown when ripe, dehiscent along both sutures, the seeds pale tan and remaining attached to the valves by strong funicles after dehiscence. Infrequent, scattered in selva baja with Ficus, Jacaratia, Pterocarpus and Bursera.
