Location
5km N of Chacalapa, track to San Miguel Chongos.

Notes
Large low-branched tree to 16m ht and 70cm dbh, with a wide, spreading crown. Outer bark mid grey, cracking irregularly leaving small, 'crazy-paving' plates. Slash thick, chunky, sll. fibrous, pale orange-brown, pale creamy-yellow latex fading dull brown. Stipules large, sl. fleshy, pale reddish to orange-green. Leaves sl. rubbery; upper surface - midrib sl. prominent, laterals and midrib pale yellow-green; lower surface - midrib and laterals prominent, all venation visible and paler as strongly translucent. Fruits partially enclosed in persistent bracts, green, minutely dotted paler whitish green, the ostiole tinged reddish. Infrequent, scattered in degraded selva baja with Albizia, Jacaratia, Pterocarpus and Bursera.
