Location
1km E of Barra de la Cruz towards Playa.

Notes
Small tree to 4-5m ht. Outer bark dark brown, rough, flaking in irregular longitudinal plates. Slash soft fibrous, mid orange-brown turning dull darker reddish-brown on exposure to air. Shoots with stout thorns. Leaves in fascicles of 2-4, sl. rubbery; upper surface - midrib and laterals yellow; lower surface - only midrib and laterals (faintly) visible, densely white hairy. Ripe fruits on axillary, 1-branched panicles, translucent pale yellow-green with a single black seed visible within the drupe. Infrequent in selva baja with Jacaratia, Caesalpinia, Tabebuia, Bursera, Cordia and Trichilia.
