Location
1km E of Barra de la Cruz towards Playa.

Notes
Medium-sized tree to 10m ht with a short clear bole to 3m, then angular branching with a spreading rounded crown. Outer bark rough mid brown with conspicuous anastomosing corky ridges separated by paler orange-brown fissures. Slash soft, thick, sl. fibrous, almost pithy, pale whitish-cream. Leaves, very unequal digitate, base of petiole sl. grooved; upper surface - midrib sl. prominent, laterals yellow; lower surface - midrib sl. prominent, laterals yellow, tertiary venation not visible. Flowers very showy, on large terminal, 2-branched panicles, the individual flowers large, tubular, calyx pale green, corolla tube green at base, pale pink at tip, the throat yellow. Common along rivers and cultivated as an ornamental / timber tree.
