Location
1km N Barra de la Cruz, nr sawmill on rd to main coastal highway.

Notes
Small low-branched tree with a compact rounded crown to 4-5m ht. Outer bark mid grey, speckled with prominent pustular lenticels. Slash soft, fibrous exuding copious milky white latex. Leaves also exuding white latex when damaged; upper surface - sl. glossy, midrib and laterals yellow, flat, continuous submarginal nerve; lower surface - midrib and laterals prominent. Flowers: calyx green, corolla bright yellow. Common, scattered in selva baja with Cochlospermum, Lonchocarpus, Havardia and Coursetia. Particularly common on sandy soils nr the coast.
