Location
500m W of Puente Copalito, at junction between main Salina Cruz - Pochutla rd and first turnoff to Bahias de Huatulco.

Notes
Medium-sized tree to 8-15m ht. Outer bark smooth pale to mid brown. Slash soft, fibrous, cream turning dirty yellow-brown on exposure to air. Twigs pale whitish green. Leaves papery in texture, upper surface - sl. shiny, midrib and laterals yellow, sl. impressed; lower surface - all venation visible. Flowers on very large, showy terminal 3-4-branched panicles. Calyx green, corolla cream-white fading dull yellow-brown as drying and fruits ripen. Very common along roadsides in selva baja, Wood reputed to be dense, dark, highly valued and heavily exploited from forest areas for poles, house construction (horcones and vigas).
