Location
500m W of Puente Copalito, at junction between main Salina Cruz - Pochutla rd and first turnoff to Bahias de Huatulco.

Notes
Small to medium-sized tree to 12-15m ht. Outer bark dark blackish-brown with vertical ridges. Leaves trifoliolate, soft and papery; upper surface - midrib and laterals impressed; lower surface - midrib and laterals prominent, pale orange-brown. Flowers: calyx pale whitish-green and hairy, corolla lilac, the throat deeper maroon. Unripe fruits bright glossy green, enclosed at base by persistent calyx, turning black when ripe and reputed to be sweet, edible and consumed locally especially by children.
