Location
Beach at Prickly Bay, N end of Lance aux Epines, in the grounds of the 'Lance aux Epines Cottages'.

Notes
Small branchy tree with an irregular spreading crown to 4m ht, but can be much larger to 15m ht. Twigs chunky, with very prominent leaf scars. Leaves leathery, petiole reddish, ?with basal glands, upper surface with bright red midrib to two-thirds length, midrib very prominent, laterals prominent and reddish, margin slightly yellower. Fruits on slightly or very pendulous spikes, green, turning reddish when ripe. 'Edible - the fruits are sucked'. Very common along the back of the beach.
