Species information

Description
An emergent tree with {Entandrophragma} like leaf-arrangement, but a more lace-like foliage pattern, due to a sparsity of leaves in the crown. Deciduous. The cylindrical bole has no buttresses, smooth when young and scaly with age. The characteristic drupes can usually be found in the leaf-litter. Young leaves are reddish.
