Species information
DescriptionModerately large, spreading, emergent or at least (gregarious) canopy of dry forest or savanna fringe tree. Sometimes deciduous, flowering in the dry season with the flush of new leaves [Taylor]. Fruits are produced Oct.-March. The bark of this and other {Khaya} species is effective against malaria [Awe and Makinde, 1991], and used as such in Ghana [Abbiw, 1990].
