Species information
DescriptionLvs mostly 6.5-15cm long, the blades with scattered gland spots near margin. Twigs densely hairy at first.
Interestsnake-like. Seeds are used for making necklaces. Barks and roots can be used instead of soap and are medicinal.

LocationOn nature trail near falls.
NotesTree 3m tall (usually 10-15m). BARK: grey-brown, finely lenticellate. SLASH: soft, avocado green, turning black, smell of wood smoke. BRANCHES: scurfy red-brown hairs on new shoots. LEAVES: US midrib and sec. nerves channelled, midrib with hairs at base; LS covered in scurfy red-brown hairs, tertiary nerves slightly raised. FLOWERS: yellow.
