Species information

Description
Lvs 4-9cm, lanceolate; Two glands near top of petiole on upper surface. Domatia. Flowers in dense heads to c 1cm. Fts in 1cm cone-like head.

Interest
The hard wood is good for making charcoal, and the bark has been used for tanning leather. With bitter and astringent taste it has also been used in medicine, as a tonic.
