Species information

Description
Small tree to 10m; branches whorled. Leaf with blades to 12xm, ovate, scabrud above, with tuft of hairs in vein axils. Frutis white, 6-8mm diam with sticky pulp.

Interest
The sticky gum (gel) from the ripe fruit is used by children to cover their kite with paper especially those who do not afford to buy starch or glue The wood is some times used as fence post on sheep farms.

white flowers with sweet elder scent. Fts green. Bark with large rectangular scales, v. rough. Many on this hill.
