Common names: Brandberg acacia (English), larib (Nama/Damara). Species characteristics : Very distinctive broom-like bush or tree, with many upright stems branching from near its base. Stems are reddish brown when young, which peels off in yellowish strips leaving a rough grey stem when older. Endemic to Northern Namibia, it occurs on rocky ridges, ravines and kloofs.
