Species information
DescriptionHerb to 1.5m, densely hairy; stipules 5mm;
InterestGk krotalon, a rattle - reference to the seeds rattling in the inflated pods. Flowers and unrioe fruits are used as an abortefacient in Paraguay, where the pods are a magic cure for mute and stuttering children (Hanum & Van der Maesen, 1997).
