Other NotesCommon names: Ethiopia: Aedaed (Somali), Waraba Gega ice (Somali); Somalia: Ciddigod (Somali). Species characteristics : Shrub to 3 m tall, with a short trunk about 0.5 meters in diameter. With 3 prickles belongs to the Acacia senegal complex. There appear to differences between a coastal form with smooth leaves and smaller pods and an inland form with hairy leaves and larger pods. Grows in Acacia Commiphora bushland, often on red sandy soil over limestone. Distribution: Ethiopia (Harerge); Somalia (Hiiraan, Mudug, Shabeellaha Dhexe, Woqooyi Galbeed).
