Species information
DescriptionLiane especially common by the sea or along lowland rivers. 2-6 pairs pinnae, but the end pair often transformed into tendrils, then without leaflets; otherwise 6-8 pairs leaflets, hairless or with a few on the midrib below. Flowers white, in spikes but many of these aggregated into a massibve panicle 30-60cm long. Pod 20-40 x 5-8cm, ripening to papery, splitting between the seeds.

LocationThe Fence Graveyard, Happy Hill. Graveyard overlooking sea at top of cliff, dominated by large Ceiba tree.
Notes1m high climber covering low bushes, flowers cream. Pods green, but starting to split laterally. This species seen in many parts of island, to 10m.
