Species information

Description
Prickly tree; leafy when flowering; lflets hairy at first; lflets 5-15cm long, apex rounded and notched; base sometimes cordate; infl to 25cm; calyxc splitting down one side, 3cm long, densely velvety hairy; longest petal 6cm x 3cm ; orange red, v. curved; other eptals brown with crimson margins; pod 8-13cm x 1.5cm, v. constricted between seeds, with 1 cm pointed tip; 1-4 seeds red with a black lines, c. 1.5cm x 1cm.
