LocationPart of Chantimelle, on hill, dense hedges and wooded ravines, but inbterspersed with many small houses.
NotesTree 2-8m tall, common in this area, but less so elsewhere on island. Some plants apparently spontaneous. Leaves dark shiny above, paler below. twigs v. lenticellate. Stem with branched, long spines, up to c. 10cm. This plant larger than 930, and fruiting. Younbg flush of leaves red. Fruits reddish, c. 1.5cm diam. Ripe fruits not v. bulky, but the soft pulp between the seeds with delicious taste of stewed, sweetened apples (Malus).
