LocationForest in Mt. Hope region, in foothills and ridges leading to Mt. St. Catherines.
NotesIn Dacryodes, Ilex, Maytenus, Sloanea forest. 8m tall tree, several together but otherwise not v. common. Leafy stipules conspicuous. Venation v. scalariform. Fts ? 1 seeded. Bark smooth, about 3mm thick, easily peeled as a single rather leathery piece. Slash with green outer layyer and scent of fresh sugar cane. Sapwood darkening, as thick clear exudate oxidises.
