Species information

Description
Medium sized tree to c 10m. 2mm thread-like stipules; Leaf lanceolate to ovate, 6-17 cm long x 2-8cm; acuminate; lower surface with microscopic hairs forming a fine very pale , discoloured felt-like lower surface. Fruits up to 25mm long, pear shaped.

Notes
Tree 12 m tall, 12 cm dbh. BARK: smooth, brown, conspicuous lenticels 2 mm diam. SLASH: finely granular, brittle, pink-brown. LEAVES: US midrib and secs impressed; LS white, cottony, sec and tertiary nerves prominant and green. NB. LS colour match not good. (RHS colour code: Leaf upper =147A, below=148C)
